About Magenta Momz

Who We Are

Our Mission at Magenta Momz is to support the mental health and well-being of caregivers of children with special needs.

We provide mental health support to caregivers who care for their amazing children with special needs. Our caregivers often encounter ongoing medical tests and procedures, recurrent emergencies and frequent hospitalizations of their children.

We aspire to support a caregiver's mind and body, and their children with disabilities, by providing self-care activities that educate, encourage and cater to their mind, body and soul.

Our Founder's Story

Maria Manning is the Founder of Magenta Momz and a special needs mom to her son, Jaylen. For years she experienced periods of mental exhaustion. She was unable to access simple things to make herself feel happy or receive necessary down-time. This is the reality of life for special needs caregivers.

With her mother’s help, she worked during the day at a corporate office, worked on her design degree at least three nights a week and hung out with her friends occasionally. After her mom passed away, she struggled to get respite and provide self-care for herself that she desperately needed. Despite her efforts, her mental health suffered terribly and resulted in bouts of depression.

Many mothers of special needs children  avoid sharing their struggles because people often offer advice that just isn’t practical. Every caregiver faces different struggles, however the common theme that  exists is that we should ALL take better care of our mental health because it is best for us and our children. Magenta Momz is a safe place to benefit from services backed by science and personal experience .

Our History

Magenta Momz founder always wanted to give back and create something that would provide support for herself and her son at the same time. It took her many years to figure out what the program would look like. In 2021, she accepted an opportunity to present her story to the local news channel 11 ALIVE. She was nervous about sharing her story, but the experience accelerated her desire to help all caregivers struggling mentally. She recruited a board of directors to start MAGENTA MOMZ INC.

Magenta Momz started out with delivering self-care packages to local moms. Since then, we have expanded to providing additional mental well-being resources as well as events for our caregivers.

We now have an ANNUAL magazine to support the caregivers and community that raises funds to provide even more services and options.

We are working towards our vision of a world where every caregiver of a special needs child is mentally well. We need the support of our entire community (individuals, small businesses, corporations, and you!) to keep our caregivers mentally healthy and well.
